Terms of service

These terms apply when you use invoicegenerators.net, including the free invoice generator, calculators, templates and Pro subscriptions (together, the "service"). The service is run by [Legal entity name], [Registered address] ("we", "us"). By using the service you agree to these terms. If you use it on behalf of a business, you confirm that you can accept these terms for that business.

The service

invoicegenerators.net lets you create invoices, receipts, quotes, estimates, proforma invoices and credit notes and download them as PDFs. The free generator works without an account and stores your documents in your browser. Pro is an optional paid subscription that adds cloud storage and features such as saved clients, recurring invoices, automatic reminders and sending invoices by email.

We don't process payments between you and your clients. Payment links you add point to your own accounts with providers such as PayPal or Stripe, and any payment is between you, your client and that provider.

The free tier

The free generator is provided as is and as available, at no charge. We may change, improve or remove features over time.

Documents you create without an account are stored only in your browser. You are responsible for keeping copies of anything you need. We can't recover documents that are lost when browser data is cleared or a device is lost or replaced.

Your documents and your responsibilities

You are responsible for every document you create with the service, including that:

• the information on it is accurate and complete
• you are entitled to issue it and to bill for the goods or services it describes
• it meets the legal and tax rules that apply to you, such as VAT, GST, HST or sales tax requirements and any rules on invoice content, numbering and record keeping

Our templates, tax labels, calculators and guides are general information, not legal, tax or accounting advice. Check with the relevant tax authority or an accountant where it matters, and review every document before you send it.

Acceptable use

You must not use the service to:

• create fraudulent, forged or deceptive documents, including invoices for goods or services that were never supplied, or documents that impersonate another person or business
• send spam, unsolicited bulk email or messages to people who have no business relationship with you through the email features
• upload content that is unlawful or that you have no right to use, such as another company's logo
• break the law, including tax, consumer protection, data protection and anti-spam laws
• probe, overload or disrupt the service, get around its limits or security, or try to access other users' data
• copy, resell or build a competing service from the service itself without our written permission

We may suspend emails, remove content or suspend or close accounts if we reasonably believe the service is being misused. Where appropriate, we will tell you why.

Accounts

Signing in relies on your email account or your Google account, so keep them secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly at hello@invoicegenerators.net if you think someone has used it without your permission.

Pro subscriptions

• Billing. Pro is billed monthly or yearly by Dodo Payments, which acts as merchant of record. Dodo Payments processes your payment, charges any sales tax or VAT that applies and issues your receipts, and its own terms apply to the purchase.
• Free trial. Where a 7-day free trial is offered, you won't be charged if you cancel before it ends. If you don't cancel, your paid subscription starts when the trial ends.
• Renewal. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. Current prices are on the pricing page. If we change the price, we will tell you before the change and it will apply from your next renewal.
• Cancellation. You can cancel at any time in the customer portal. Pro stays active until the end of the period you have paid for, and then your account moves to the free plan. Your data stays in your account, and Pro-only features pause.
• Refunds. If Pro isn't working for you, email us within 14 days of a charge and we'll refund it. This does not affect any rights you have under consumer protection law.
• Plan changes. You can switch between monthly and yearly billing through the customer portal or by emailing us.

Your content

You own the content you put into the service, including your documents, client details and logo. You give us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, copy, transmit and display that content only as needed to operate the service for you, for example to render a PDF, sync your devices or send an email you have asked us to send. The license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we must keep by law.

We own the service, including its software, designs, templates and text. You may use the documents you create with our templates for any lawful purpose.

If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without any obligation to you.

Availability

We aim to keep the service available and working, but we don't promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may carry out maintenance, change features or discontinue parts of the service. If we stop offering Pro, we will give you reasonable notice and refund any prepaid period you can no longer use.

Disclaimers

To the extent the law allows, the service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't warrant that calculations, templates, tax labels or guides are correct or complete for your situation.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss, or for any loss of profits, revenue, business, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the service or your inability to use it.

Our total liability for all claims relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for Pro in the 12 months before the claim arose and USD 100.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, you keep the rights that consumer protection law gives you.

Termination

You can stop using the service at any time. To delete your account, email hello@invoicegenerators.net from the address on your account, and we will delete your account data as described in our privacy policy.

We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly breach these terms, with notice where it is reasonable to give it. If we close a Pro account for any other reason, we will refund any prepaid period you can no longer use. The sections on your content, disclaimers, limitation of liability and governing law continue to apply after termination.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will change the date on this page and, for material changes, email account holders before the changes take effect. If you keep using the service after that, the updated terms apply to you.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [Governing law jurisdiction], and its courts will handle any dispute. If you are a consumer, you may also bring proceedings in the courts where you live, and the mandatory consumer protections of your country continue to apply.
